Let's talk about fatherhood

Dads in Australia face many hidden barriers, coming up against sexist gender roles and stereotypes that can make it difficult to be the kind of dad they want to be.

From unequal parental leave allowances, to a lack of changing tables in men’s bathrooms, to harmful perceptions of stay-at-home dads - it’s time to talk about fatherhood and how to create a world that supports and enables all parents in making the choices that feel right for them.

In celebration of Father’s Day, we interviewed four dads about their experiences – what they’ve learnt, how they’re navigating those barriers and how we can support dads to be more open and involved in their child’s upbringing.
