Gender Equality Starts With Us – How You Can Make an Impact
COVID-19 affects people of different genders differently, yet response strategies, policies and public health efforts more broadly, often do not address these gendered impacts. Understanding how global pandemics and disease outbreaks affect people of different genders is fundamental to design and implement response strategies and interventions that are effective and equal.
Furthermore, women, gender diverse folk, and people from marginalised communities, must be involved as leaders in building effective interventions that serve the communities they are impacting.
We’ve put together a series of infographics exploring the gendered impacts of COVID-19 – specifically the intersections between women’s experiences and COVID-19.

The land we live and work on always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land. We pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and acknowledge the ongoing leadership role of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities in preventing violence against women. We also acknowledge Traditional Custodians of the lands where EQI works around the world.
