Global Shared Research Agenda: Research Priorities and Pathways for Progress Policy Brief

This summary introduces a monitoring framework to support the prevention of violence against women and girls (VAWG) across the Asia-Pacific region. With one in three women globally experiencing violence in their lifetime, prevention is urgent — but progress requires clear, consistent ways to measure change in the short, medium, and long term.
Designed for policymakers and practitioners, the framework outlines the core components of effective prevention, offers tools for monitoring impact, and aligns with key global and regional commitments.
By promoting consistency, comparability, and shared learning across countries, it aims to strengthen capacity, improve data, and ultimately accelerate efforts to ensure women and girls live free from violence.
The land we live and work on always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land. We pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and acknowledge the ongoing leadership role of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities in preventing violence against women. We also acknowledge Traditional Custodians of the lands where EQI works around the world.
